The Minister of Trade and Industry Dr. Hinga Sandi, together with his Deputy on Friday 19th March, 2021 unveiled the first Apple Store shop (Just You & Me) in Sierra Leone at Howe Street in Freetown.

Speaking during the official opening ceremony, Dr. Sandi applauded the Chief Executive M Raza Bhojani for such a brilliant idea in opening the first Apple Store shop in the country, adding that a number of Sierra Leoneans have been yarning for this opportunity and that this is the very first time they are having such a franchise in the country.

He continued that they have been working very closely on reforms that would give more and more confidence to private companies and individuals in the country, noting that they are very please to open the showroom for the first time and that they hope more and more people will come and see what is happening here and be able to buy their own products.

“Over the last few years we have been able to build investor confidence that people are confidence enough that we are taking another level as we don’t need to go to the United States of America or any other place to get Apple products. We are bringing the world closer to Sierra Leone,“ the Minister said.

In his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Just You & Me Shop, Mr. M Raza Bhojani thanked the Minister and his deputy for leaving their busy schedule in gracing what he described as a remarkable day in the history of Sierra Leone.

He furthered that today is the first day to open the Apple Showroom but that he has another shop at Rawdon Street since 2010, pointing out that they sell all kind of phones.

“This is the first time we are having theopportunity from Dubai to get exclusive distribution of iPhone to Sierra Leone. This shop is exclusive for iPhone, we don’t sell any other stuff here. In this shop you can get our products at a very reasonable prize through the American wholesale prize. We give you guaranty and if there is any technical problem, we would exchange the iPhone for you. We have the Apple ipad, Bluetooth and all kinds of apple products in this store”.

Bhojani said. Speaking on the idea behind the opening of the showroom, he went on that he lives in Dubai and that he is also a distributer in Dubai for the last ten years, underscoring that because of the burden of travelling, they told him to open the Apple Store in Sierra Leone.

He concluded by assuring Sierra Leoneans that base on the response of consumers, they will extend the showroom in other parts of the country like Bo or Kenema.
